THE CHALLENGE
This food and challenge-style video had a big premise, but the original thumbnail did not make the scale or curiosity obvious enough. The concept needed to feel surprising, competitive, and instantly understandable.
The challenge was turning a busy idea into a simple click story. With restaurants, reactions, food, and location cues competing for attention, the thumbnail needed one clear reason to stop scrolling.
It also needed to feel bigger than a normal review. The packaging had to suggest an event-style video with a payoff, not just another restaurant opinion.
WHAT I DID
I rebuilt the thumbnail around a stronger before-and-after feeling, making the improved version communicate scale, emotion, and curiosity with less visual friction.

Focused the image on the most clickable question: what makes this restaurant or food experience worth comparing, reviewing, or ranking?
✓ Stronger Human Reaction
Used clearer expression and subject presence so the viewer could feel the stakes of the challenge before reading the title.
✓ Cleaner Scale & Location Cues
Balanced the environment and subject so the thumbnail suggested a larger journey without burying the focal point in detail.
THE RESULTS
