THE CHALLENGE

This video needed to make a broad product-testing idea feel specific. ‘Weird Amazon products’ is a familiar format, so the thumbnail had to show enough novelty to make this version feel worth watching.

The challenge was choosing what to feature. Too many products would make the thumbnail messy, but one product alone might not communicate the variety promised by the title.

The design also needed to signal fun discovery rather than a normal shopping review, keeping the energy closer to entertainment than consumer advice.

WHAT I DID

I centered the creative on the strangest product moment, then used supporting visual cues to suggest there were more surprises inside the video.

✓ Weirdness as the Main Hook

Selected the product visual that created the fastest ‘what is that?’ reaction and made it the dominant read in the frame.

✓ Curiosity-Led Product Layout

Used a controlled arrangement so the viewer understood the Amazon-testing theme without losing the focal point.

✓ Entertainment Over Review

Pushed reaction and surprise in the composition so the video felt like a challenge to watch, not a product guide to compare.

THE RESULTS
